Canton, NY's internet and communications services firm, Haenel Communication Technologies, has recently added a new service to their already full line.
Photography Worx, a photo studio specializing in event and portrait photography, will announce their grand opening event soon. HCT expects their grand opening to "make a big splash," according to HCT principal, Bill Haenel.
“We'd like to let folks in the community know that we exist, but more importantly we're hoping to really entertain and have fun. If we have 100 or so people come in for a free session, we'd love it if they left with a smile on their face as though they'd just been to a great party.”
Photography Worx's experience and service lineup includes photographing Weddings, Reunions, Group and Sporting events, as well as Newborn, Pet, Graduation, Group and Family portraits and others.
Mr. Haenel and his wife-business partner, Lizette C. Haenel, have been in the process of opening their new studio for quite some time. Mrs. Haenel will serve as Photography Worx’s Lead Photographer.
Mr. Haenel is a native of New York State’s North Country, having grown up in rural Waddington, NY most of his life. However, the couple says they actually met in a lab/studio combination shop a few hundred miles south of Canton in the Hudson Valley in 1990. At that time they both worked behind the cameras as photographers, worked in the lab processing and printing, as well as in product quality control and business management.
Since then, both Mr. and Mrs. Haenel say they have worked in a variety of fields, including advertising, marketing, sales, and internet technology. Although both business partners have continued to take pictures both professionally and personally, and Mrs. Haenel has worked as assistant to local Outdoor Photographer for most of 2006, they have only this past year found the time to open a photo house of their own.
So why the leap back into photography after so many years?
“Taking pictures is something I am passionate about. It’s the one thing I love to do, and what better way is there to live, than to do what you love?” says Mrs. Haenel.
“There are several great photographers in the North Country. So we hope to be a positive compliment to who’s already here. What we try to do is to tell our customers’ stories in photos, the way they would do it themselves if they were behind the camera. We see ourselves as recording moments in time.”
Photography Worx strives to be a full-featured photography service. Not only will they take pictures in their studio and on-location, but they also intend to offer various photo-related products, including albums, mugs, buttons, photo cards and more. In addition, they will provide photo editing service to those who wish to enhance or alter their own images, and will offer services to commercial clients and artists wanting images of their products and artwork.
According to Mr. Haenel, “We like to say we do photography that works for you.”
The Photography Worx studio can be found at 71 Main Street, Suite 202 in Canton, NY, or online at www.photographyworx.com.
